What Cas has done in the last three weekdays that she has not been at work:
1. Faxed resignation letter/doctor's note
2. Cleaned the house
3. Cleaned off both the front and the back porches
4. Planted flowers in all of my planters that I can take with me to Seattle
5. Cleaned the house
6. Made, count them, about 20 nights worth of dinners that are in the freezer and just need to be thawed and cooked for after Rhia is born.
7. Made a strawberry-rhubarb pie
8. Cleaned the house
9. Washed every article of dirty clothing in the house, including dusting rags
10. grocery shopped a couple of times
11. scrubbed the shower and bathroom to the point where they look brand-new
12. Compulsively emailed my sub with things that she needs to do/remember in order to keep my classroom running the way it should, because I am a neurotic control freak.
13. Updated my resume and cover letter format for new job-hunting
14. Cleaned out both freezers to make room for new beef and my freezer dinners.
This is all amidst internet wandering, hanging out with Al, going for walks, sitting on my yoga ball, sleeping, and having random bouts of contractions that I might think are the real thing, but then they go away. Today I have sort of run out of stuff to do. I need to scrapbook, so that may be where my attention goes here in a bit. If she doesn't show up soon, my head may explode. I think I'm making Al tired by association--but for some reason I'm not as tired as I thought I would be--I guess I can take breaks when I need to, unlike at work, and my days are much shorter--I get up around 7:30 and go to bed around 9:30, whereas when working I was up at 5:00 and didn't really have breaks until I came home. And I would say it's nesting, but I've been like this for awhile if I have spare time, and at this point, there's nothing left to do. The house is clean, food is made, Rhia's stuff is ready.....so what's the hold-up?!? Al and I both keep asking her to come out, but she is very obviously our child. Apparently when two belligerant, stubborn people have a child, said offspring will be twice as obstinant. It's going to be a long 18 years....
